A woman has died after being swept into the water at Jack Darling Park in Mississauga late Saturday night.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the waterfront at around 10:30 p.m. following reports of a person in the water, prompting a search and rescue operation.

The woman was located approximately 45 minutes later and taken to hospital. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
