A woman sustained serious injuries late Monday night after her hand became caught in a meat grinder at a workplace in East York. Toronto police were called to the industrial site near Overlea Boulevard and Thorncliffe Park Drive at 11:19 p.m.
Emergency crews freed the woman and transported her to the hospital. While her injuries are serious, they are not considered life-threatening. The Ministry of Labour has been notified and is investigating the incident.
