A fatal crash near Peterborough claimed the life of a 57-year-old woman early on April 29.
Ontario Provincial Police say emergency crews responded around 6:15 a.m. to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7, west of Emily Park Road in Fowlers Corners. The crash involved an SUV and a pickup truck towing a trailer.
The woman, who was the sole occupant of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were not injured.
Police continue to investigate the incident with support from technical collision specialists. Highway 7 was shut down in both directions between Frank Hill Road and Emily Park Road for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.
