A woman in her 70s was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while walking in Scarborough on Monday night.
Toronto police responded to a collision near Markham Road and Highway 401 shortly before 9:30 p.m. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Northbound Markham Road has been closed at Progress Avenue as officers investigate the incident.
