A man has been charged with impaired driving following a hit-and-run collision that injured a female pedestrian in North York early Thursday.
Police responded around midnight to a report of a fail-to-remain crash near Curlew Drive and Rialto Drive, close to Lawrence Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue. Investigators say the driver later returned to the scene, where it was determined that a woman in her 20s had been struck.
Both the pedestrian and the driver were taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police say the driver, believed to be in his 30s, is facing charges for impaired operation and driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit.
