An investigation is underway after a workplace fatality at the Maple Leaf Foods facility in south London.

Emergency services were called to the poultry processing plant on Wilton Grove Road around 3 p.m. on Thursday following the incident involving a worker who sustained fatal injuries. Police say the death is believed to be accidental.

London police are working with the Office of the Chief Coroner, while the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has also launched its own investigation, assigning both an inspector and an ergonomist to the case.

Authorities have not released further details about what led to the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
