A construction worker in his 30s was hospitalized Thursday after being hurt at a Toronto work site, according to emergency responders.
Police were called around 10:10 a.m. to reports of an injured worker near the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension project at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Jane Street. Paramedics transported the man to hospital under emergency conditions. While his injuries were initially described as life-threatening, authorities later said his condition had stabilized and was no longer considered critical.
Toronto Fire reported that the incident involved a collision between two construction vehicles, leaving one worker in need of medical care.
Metrolinx confirmed that both the Ministry of Labour and Metrolinx are investigating the incident and said its thoughts are with the injured worker and his family.
