A fatal crash in west Kingston on the night of July 31, 2024 claimed the lives of a 32-year-old motorcyclist and their 22-year-old passenger. The collision occurred around 11 p.m. on Bath Road, west of Tanner Drive, when the motorcycle struck a vehicle head-on.

Both occupants of the motorcycle died at the scene. A cyclist nearby at the time sustained minor injuries.

Following the crash, eastbound lanes reopened early the next morning, while westbound lanes remained closed for several more hours as the investigation continued.

In an update released in March 2026, Kingston Police said a young person from the city was charged with stunt driving and leaving the scene. The individual was later found guilty and sentenced that same month.
