A youth has been arrested and charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fiery two-vehicle crash in Vaughan late Wednesday night.
York Regional Police were called to the area near Embassy Drive and Pine Valley Drive, north of Highway 7, shortly before 11 p.m. after a black Audi and a silver Honda SUV collided.
Police say the Audi was changing lanes when it struck the Honda. The impact caused the Audi to roll over and catch fire. The youth driving the Audi allegedly fled on foot but was arrested nearby a short time later.
Only minor injuries were reported in the collision.
The youth, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces charges of dangerous operation and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. The allegations have not been proven in court.
Several roads in the area were closed while investigators examined the crash.
