An 11-year-old boy was injured after falling from a zipline at an indoor trampoline park in Scarborough on Saturday. While preparing to ride, he tested the rope, but when it was his turn the harness malfunctioned, sending him several metres down onto a concrete surface. His mother captured the incident on video as bystanders rushed to help while they waited for emergency services.

The child suffered internal bruising and back injuries and was taken by ambulance to SickKids hospital, where he stayed overnight before being released to recover at home. Although he avoided life-threatening harm, he remains in pain and is emotionally shaken by the experience. His parents say the incident has been deeply distressing for their family.

The boy’s father raised concerns about safety at the facility, noting the absence of protective nets or padding beneath the zipline and limited staff supervision. He also alleged that employees did not assist after the fall or contact emergency services, leaving other parents to intervene and call for help. The family has since filed a police report and wants greater accountability to prevent similar incidents.

The trampoline park confirmed it is aware of the situation and stated that the matter is under review with insurers and legal counsel, declining further comment because it involves a minor. Meanwhile, the family says they have not been contacted by the business and hopes their experience serves as a warning to other parents about safety expectations at recreational facilities.
